Launched in 1998, the Association for the Study of Travel in Switzerland promotes research and public outreach projects related to the history of travel in Switzerland and the Alps. Our mission is to foster dialogue between academic scholars and society. With this in mind, the association has created a traveling exhibition, produces an annual bulletin, and regularly organizes guided cultural tours and excursions. It also oversees a collection entitled “Le Voyage dans les Alpes”, collaborates with the Viaticalpes digital archive (Faculty of Letters, UNIL) and participates in other media projects, including the creation of multimedia videos and apps.
The wonder of travel is that it is open to anyone, anywhere, and exists in multiple forms. Come walk our trails!
Der 1998 gegründete Verein zur Erforschung des Reisens in der Schweiz fördert Forschungsprojekte und öffentliche Initiativen zur Geschichte des Reisens in der Schweiz und den Alpen. Er fördert den Dialog zwischen den Wissenschaftlern und der Gesellschaft. Zu diesem Zweck hat der Verein eine Wanderausstellung ins Leben gerufen, gibt jährlich ein Bulletin heraus und organisiert regelmässig geführte Kulturreisen und Ausflüge. Er betreut auch die Publikationsreihe « Le Voyage dans les Alpes », arbeitet mit dem digitalen Archiv von Viaticalpes (Faculty of Letters, UNIL) zusammen und beteiligt sich an anderen Medienprojekten, darunter die Erstellung von Multimedia-Videos und -Apps.
